High School Tag
If you could go back and tell your teenage self one thing, what would it be? Not to sweat the small stuff and don’t be so concerned about how I looked (even though I looked pretty dorky)
Did you do any extra curricular activities in high school? Yes, I was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, a member of Homemakers of America, on Student Council my Junior year, and on Seminary Council my Senior year.
What did you do with your free time? Hang out with my friends.
Coolest thing you did as a teenager? I don’t think I really did anything cool. I wasn’t very much of a daredevil and I did everything my parents said (just ask my sisters).
Did you have a boyfriend in high school? Yes, and I am married to him now.
Songs that come to mind? Forever Young, which was our theme song for prom. If you could change one thing, what would it be? I would probably study harder. I got good grades but I know I could have done better.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A pediatric nurse
Picture of self…I don’t have any that I can show. I’ll have to look and see if I can find one and post it later.
Craziest thing you did in high school? I had a Ford LTD that was the longest car ever and it only got AM stations so Janean, my friend Mary Ann and I would turn up the radio really loud (that was tuned in to the imagination station) and sing out the window. We were pretty dumb but we had a great time!

Has anyone ever had a day where they had the thought that everything was going pretty good and that it was going to be a great day? Well I had that thought this morning and then I was punished for thinking it. I was on the phone with our plant material broker when Pieper came in crying and saying that she had pooped. Of course she said it so loud that I'm sure the guy heard everything she said. So I just ignored her for a little bit until I looked over and remembered that she didn't have a diaper on because she had just gotten out of the bathtub. So I quickly ended the phone call and went in search of Pieper's poop because she couldn't remember where it was. It was the nastiest thing ever. I got it taken care of and put Pieper's diaper on and while I was getting her dressed I said, "Pieper you need to start going to the bathroom on the toilet. Do I need to start giving you cold showers (a method to get kid's toilet trained that sounds so mean but it really works)?" She said, "Yes, I think so." Obviously she has no idea what I am talking about. I keep telling her that she can't go to Grandma's pre-school if she doesn't start going to the bathroom on the toilet but she doesn't get it. So that will be my project this summer!
As I was driving the kids to school this morning Adriana said, "Mom, when people get older do they get to change their name to something else?" I told her that if a lady gets married she usually changes her last name to her husbands last name. But that is not what she meant so I told her that sometimes when people get older they decided to change their name to something else. A few minutes later she said, " I think when I am older I am going to change my name." I asked her what she would change it to and she said she would have to think about it. A couple minutes later she said, "I think I would like to change my name to Stephanie. So will you tell everybody to start calling me Stephanie from now on?" I told her that we might get confused when somebody calls and asks if Stephanie can play and I might answer and tell them that I have to work so she wouldn't ever be able to play with anybody. She quickly said, "We'd just have to ask which Stephanie they wanted to talk to, the mom or the daughter."

Here are some pictures of the girls playing outside in the warm sun. They played outside for over six hours and had the best time. I had to lube Adriana and Pieper up with sunscreen about three times because it was such a warm day and I was worried about them getting a sunburn. Pieper actually did get a little strip of her back burned because I missed putting sunscreen there but I'm grateful it wasn't more than that. She has such fair skin that she will burn within 20 minutes of being outside. Adriana has gotten very good at reminding me to put sunscreen on them because I usually forget.
The girls ran through the sprinkler, swam in the pool, and spent some time "laying" out and trying to get a tan. I know I have said it before but it's amazing how fast they are growing up! They had a great time and we are looking forward to another warm day so they can do it again.

Last week the Adriana, Adelie, Mallory, and Pieper decided to play outside since it was so warm. I looked outside to check on the girls and this is what I found. Adriana, Adelie, and Whytli were standing at the fence watching Harrison and Parker play at the neighbor's house. It was so sad because they wanted to go over there to play with them but the boys wouldn't let them.
I wanted to quickly write a couple things that Pieper and Adriana said this weekend before I forget.
We were driving in the car the other day and out of the blue Adriana said, "Dad, how did you get mom?" At first we didn't understand what she was talking about and then we realized that she wanted to know how we met. So we told her that we met at the Little Acorn and then she said, "Dad, did you get down on one knee and ask mom to marry you?" It's funny how much of a romantic she is. I think she has watched so many princess movies that she thinks everyone is proposed to like they are in the movies. It was pretty cute!
Jeff was getting ready this morning and Pieper told him that she wanted to go with him. He told her that he wasn't going anywhere but that wasn't good enough for her and she insisted that he was going somewhere so he said, "I'm going to China." She didn't really say anything else and then a while later when Jeff was getting on his jacket once again Pieper said that she wanted to go with him. Jeff asked her where she wanted to go and she said, "China." When we pulled up to the restaurant where we were going to eat she started to cry because "she wanted to go to China and not to eat."
A couple days ago Pieper got mad at me for something and she said, "Fine then your not going to my birthday party and you're not my best friend." I thought it was so funny because I know exactly where she got that from...Kynli, Laura, Adriana, Adelie, and Whytli. They are always threatening each other with that and the funny thing is they get upset about it and actually believe each other.

Last week Harrison came home from school with the biggest smile on his face. I was on the phone when he walked through the door and I could tell that he wanted to tell me something so I quickly ended the conversation so he could talk to me. He pulled out of his backpack a Rees Eagle Reward that he had been striving for all year. He was beaming from ear to ear. Parker was a little jealous but he said he was going to try and earn one next year. Parker made the comment that he was so excited for Harrison when he heard his teacher call his name. I took out my camera and Harrison said, "Oh, are you going to take a picture of me for your blog?" I knew that he was excited about it because he never likes me to take pictures of him.
